"Thanks you so much for putting my blanket together! I'm so happy with it and it is very beautiful. I am finally settled in Decatur and I love it here. I'm working on my other blanket - but, I spend most of my time reading law books.

Thank you again! The blanket looks lovely and thank you for doing such a great job teaching me how to knit. I really love it. Take good care.

Love, Stephanie"

"My mother is an excellent knitter. Mom would knit and sew all the time when I was growing up. She tried to teach me several times but to no avail. I was a needlepointer.

Knitting started to become a growing hobby about 5 years ago. I really wanted to learn but when I would go into a knitting store it seemed like a very closed group. If you did not know how to knit you were looked down upon and no one really wanted to take the time to help you.

My first project was with a mid-town knitting store. They offered a free lesson with purchase of yarn. I received the basic lesson and was on my way. I went back several times again got very limited instruction. Needless to say when I was completed the sweater could not be pieced together is was a mess.

A friend of mine told me a new knitting store that had opened up on 75th street between 1st and 2nd. The first time I went the store it was very crowded but the owner found time to help everyone. That was 3 years ago. I am a pretty good knitter now. I have purchased and completed many projects including sweaters, hats, and jackets. Valerie, the owner has taken the time to teach me and is always available to help me when I need it. She has made knitting fun and easy to learn.

Valerie’s store has a very loyal following everyone is friendly and we all share our projects and get ideas for one another. Valerie loves to teach beginners and every time I do a new project she always finds a way to teach me something new.

There is a wide variety of yarns to pick from and the prices are very reasonable. Valerie also does project finishing at very reasonable prices.

She is a talented fashion designer and will design and write couture patterns for you. This is the way I go. Every project I have completed Valerie has designed from scratch. There is also a wide selection of pattern books to choose from.

If you are advanced or just beginning to knit this is the store for you. Valerie makes knitting as easy as 123.
